Romney Shed Central Heating Boiler House 7451/43 (Main Site)
Erected during WW2, this is a 35ft span Romney hut adapted as a boiler house. It had seven 13-ton steam boilers positioned in-line and in front of a horizontal brick and concrete flue. Four boilers connected with the larger diameter steel chimney stack (50ft high, 4ft 9in diameter, weight of steel 4-tons). The other three were served by the smaller chimney.
